Lake Almanor is located where the Sierras meet the Cascades. It is approximately 120 miles northwest of Reno and 240 miles north of San Francisco. The lake has 52 miles of shoreline and stunning views of Mount Lassen. Known as the "Trophy Fish Lake", fishing is excellent year round. Rainbow and German Brown trout, large and small mouth bass, landlocked Chinook Salmon (stocked), and catfish abound.
With our one mile of shoreline, North Shore Campground is the perfect destination for those who love watersports. We have a boat ramp, and boat slips are available for rent on a daily, weekly, and seasonal basis. We also rent fishing boats and kayaks & canoes. Lake Almanor offers excellent Rainbow and German Brown trout fishing, while small mouth bass, salmon, and catfish are also plentiful.
At North Shore Campground, we take pride in our clean and well-maintained facilities. Trailer Life consistently awards us at least 9 out of 10 for the cleanliness of our restrooms and showers. Many of our sites are shaded by magnificent pine, fir and redwood trees; and our grounds are carefully tended to make every aspect of your visit enjoyable.
